TRANSCRIPT

To My Future Self:

I, now, am young. There have only been three presidents who have served in my lifetime. I have never seen anywhere outside of the United States. I’ve never drank martinis (or any alcohol) like the girls in the movies. I’ve never loved. I’ve never done a lot of things.

So, I have to ask you, in your experience, who is luckier, you or me? Is it better to know or is it better to wonder?

Best Regards,
You

When Samantha Friskey isn’t writing fiction, she can be found slaving over her homework for her sophomore year at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School in Washington, DC. Her work appears or is forthcoming in Sleet Magazine, the Georgetowner, and Eunoia Review. She prays she will maintain her energetic approach and never-ending enthusiasm for her work throughout the decades of writing ahead of her.
