6/21: Spinetingler’s Pay the Bitch Back
We here at Black Heart have a soft spot in our blackened aortas for an old-fashioned revenge story. A truly good one is hard to pull off, without simply sounding like therapy for the writer, but the really good ones end up with somebody bricked up in a wall, or screaming about the beating of the murder victim’s hideous heart, right?
That’s why we’re digging Spinetingler’s new contest, Pay the Bitch Back. Sure, it’s about hunting down the best damn revenge story in town, but it’s also got a great back-story we can all learn from. (It’s actually required reading, I believe, for entering this contest, so click that link or die screaming, Edgar Allen Poe-style, with a cask or flask of liquor as your only comfort.)
Don’t piss a publication off, friends. Not unless you want to be immortalized as a douchebag in print, with a contest held yearly in your shoddy memory.
For those NOT on Spinetingler’s shit-list, we highly recommend banging out a finely-crafted tale of exquisite vengeance, posthaste. Here are some of the deets:
- Deadline for submission = July 21, 2010
- 1st place gets ya publication and $25
- 2nd place earns publication and $15
- 3rd place nets publication and $10
- Honorable Mentions will also receive the prize of publication
